Scott has been ministering to students for over 14 years where he has had the privilege of sharing the gospel with students, while helping them become Men and Women of God. Scott’s greatest goal would be seeing students accept Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. Scott is an experienced and energetic teacher/preacher of the Bible who enjoys sharing the gospel with everyone.

Scott Talley’s Testimony:

Scott has been a Christian for 20 years, and through these years he has learned to keep God close within his soul each day. There have been many times in Scott’s walk where God has helped him to understand True Christianity. Scott has learned that as a Christian, his heart needs to be seeking God and God’s will. Once Scott began to understand what it meant to be a Christian,  he began to give every part of his life over to God. Then he realized that God is fully in control of his life. Salvation is something that many people have become numb to over time, but Scott has gained knowledge through his walk with God that  salvation is valuable.

When Scott was born again at the age of eight,  he realized that he was going to have to live differently than the way of this world. Scott then asked God for direction. Daily  Scott is in the word of God, which helps him to draw closer and learn how to live for God.

God has been working in the life of Scott Talley for many years and has led him through many moments in life. One very important moment in Scott’s life was when God gave him a passion for sharing the Gospel and working with teenagers. As he has worked in different churches as a Student Minister, Scott has found that there is nothing that brings him more fulfillment than sharing the Gospel with teenagers.

The deepening of Scott’s passion for sharing the Gospel is daily reassuring that Scott is seeking the divine call God has for his life. Scott Talley truly realized that he was called into the ministry when he was working with AIDS patients in Washington D.C. While there, he realized people need to invest in others’ lives and share the Good News with them. Instead of analyzing how people feel, Scott built relationships and told them about Jesus and God’s plans for their eternal life. Daily Scott saw God calling him to do God’s work, and he knew the fulfillment that it brings at the end of the day is God’s reassurance.

When Scott began his education at Union University, seminary was something that was on his mind. As he continued his education at Union, Talley began to build relationships with local ministers and faculty members who began to encourage him to further his education in a Southern Baptist Seminary. Southeastern was the seminary where the faculty encouraged Scott to further his education. While at Union University, Scott began to realize that Dr. Akin has been doing amazing things at Southeastern Seminary and students were leaving the seminary fully prepared for the ministry God had called them to do.  Southeastern Seminary is where Scott furthered his education and graduated from there in 2011 with a Masters of Divinity in Evangelism. Scott finished up his doctorate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in the fall of 2015 on Discipleship within the student ministry.
